Memorial Videos and Photos

Rose (Rosie) Pappal, 91, of Indiana, PA formally from Dixonville went to be with the lord at St. Andrew’s Village on May 31, 2020.

Rose was born April 28, 1929 to the late Andrew and Anna Julock of Rochester Mills, Pa. She was a lifelong member of the St John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Dixonville where she enjoyed cooking for picnics, weddings and funerals, teaching Sunday School and sewing robes and alter clothes for the church.

You could always expect to see a crochet hook or sewing needle in her hand when you visited her, giving you something she just made. And that infectious smile offering you a cup of coffee or something to eat. Her baked perogies....so good. Father George always seemed to have a way of knowing when a fresh batch came out of the oven. She meant a lot to so many people, so much can be said. She was the best thing that happened to some of us, a shining light, full of kindness and positivity. An inspiration to all who were lucky to have known her.

Along with her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John, in 2015. Seven brothers; Julian, Steve, Charles, John, Mike, Nick and Pete. And five sisters; Mary, Ann, Kate, Eva and Julia.

She is survived by 3 children; Son Samuel Pappal and wife Patricia of Hudson, NH, Daughter Rose Mary (Pappal) Jones and husband Keith of Clarksburg, PA and son Stephen Pappal of Indiana, Pa. Seven granddaughters, Erin, Adrienne, Sherilyn, Anna, Keeli, Pamela and Robin. Two great-grandsons, Paul and Evan. And one great-granddaughter, Livia. One brother-in-law Metro Pappal and wife Debby of Lewiston, NY Along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
